"We reached out to Aurelie in 2023 as we were looking for support for our daughter who was 11 years old and had been struggling with friendship groups at school. Our daughter often came home from school upset, and her had noticed her confidence had declined. At home, we had tried to help our daughter with strategies in how to cope, but we felt quite lost, and were not sure if we were giving the best advice.
We contacted Aurelie for advice and our daughter had a first meeting with Aurelie for around 1 hour. During this first meeting, Aurelie was able to establish initial trust with our daughter and they were able to start to talk about what had been happening amongst the friendship groups. Our daughter went on to meet with Aurelie, one on one, for a few weeks. During these sessions, our daughter was able to open up and talk to her. Aurelie was able to use games and techniques to illustrate the importance of what makes a good friend, what we value in people, and techniques to use in case of tricky situations or conversations that may arise.
During this time, Aurelie kept myself and my husband, up to date on what she had been discussing in the sessions, and how we could use the techniques and advice at home.
We noticed a growth in confidence within our daughter over these weeks, and our daughter began to enjoy her times with friends more and widen her friendship circle. Our daughter continues to do well and she is excited about the move to high school in August.
Aurelie is a highly knowledgeable practitioner with a wealth of experience. She is very caring and was dedicated to helping our daughter. Our daughter felt she could happily work with Aurelie and they formed a trusted relationship. We very much appreciated the help we received from her, she was a fantastic resource for our family."
